Autobiography:
ATF Senior Special Agent Raymond V. Montoya is a native of Miami,
FL where he
attended Christopher Columbus Catholic High School, and Miami Dade
College.
He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from
Florida
International University in 1985.
Raymond Montoya's mother, Maria M. Montoya - Shouldice, is a former
U.S. INS
Supervisory Inspector and retired Immigration Examiner whose duty
locations
were in Miami, FL.
Raymond Montoya graduated from the 175th Class of the United States
Border
Patrol Academy in 1985, and served with the USBP at the Imperial
Beach, CA
Post of Duty as his first duty station.
In 1988 he served as a Spanish Instructor at the USBP Academy in
Glynco, GA.
He then transferred to the Tucson, AZ USBP Station as a Senior Border
Patrol
Agent.
In August of 1992, Agent Montoya was hired by the Bureau of ATF
and served as
a Special Agent at the ATF Tucson, AZ Field Office. He voluntarily
transferred to the Chattanooga, TN ATF Field Office as a Senior
ATF Special
Agent in April of 1997.
In January of 2002 Agent Montoya transferred to Bureau of ATF Headquarters,
where he is presently assigned to duties at the ATF National Enforcement
Operations Center (NEOC) in Washington, D.C.
